February 12th, 2010 by joeO

Always aware of consumer needs, LG launch the N2B1 Network Storage solution, specifically designed with home and small business users in mind. “Families are cataloguing their entire lives digitally. A new breed of media professionals are working independently or from small offices without IT support. This is increasing the demand for safe, redundant storage options that are within economic reach,” said Simon Kang, CEO and President of LG Home Entertainment Company.  As a consequence LG’s N2B1 network attached storage drive is equipped with two drive bays for safe and redundant storage, user friendly networking, internet capabilities to share files online, easy...

The LG Arena Birmingham – Life’s Good Live

February 8th, 2010 by joeO

Completed in October 2009, the reinvigorated LG Arena Birmingham is a must visit venue for any music fan. With £29 million spent on redvelopment last year it is now one of the biggest and best venues in the country with a capacity of 15,700. But comfort has not been forfeit for size, with every seat being brand new with comfortable padding and a couple of extra inches added during the refit. Everything has been thought of to ensure that an excellent experience is enjoyed with 100 LG large screens placed inside the arena and even 400 toilets onsite, especially useful when the ‘Fast Pour’ pumps at the bar can pour 24 pints in 7 seconds! Where better to catch the biggest touring acts like Lady Gaga who is playing in March?

Long live the King

February 5th, 2010 by joeO

Being but a young whippersnapper has its disadvantages. People don’t take you seriously, waiters question your judgement when you send back wine that is corked, salesmen don’t think you have the money to afford anything they are selling, the England 1966 World Cup win was way before our time and the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, did not live long enough for some of us to experience live. Thanks to the power of technology and LG, people like me will be given the chance to experience the legend that is The King live. The LG Arena in Birmingham is...

“Welcome to Rapture”

February 3rd, 2010 by joeO

“I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, Where the great would not be constrained by the...

LG – Life’s Green

February 3rd, 2010 by joeO

In the first six months of 2009 LG was proud to announce that it had successfully reduced 2.1 million tons of greenhouse emissions through improved efficiency and manufacturing processes. To put that into perspective, that’s the equivalent of planting 700 million pine trees to offset carbon emissions! This news came in the wake of LG’s announcement that it intends to reduce annual emissions by 15% by the year 2012 through improved energy efficiency in it‘s products. LG have taken further steps on their eco-promise by investing $168 million in refitting a decommissioned factory that once made plasma screens into a factory...

LG GW620 Android phone

February 3rd, 2010 by joeO

Last week I wrote a brief introduction to the GW620 and promised to tell you more having spent the weekend testing it out. Never one to break a promise, here is my feedback having spent some time playing with just a fraction of the many apps available from the android market place. If I were to pick a favourite app it would definitely be the ‘Family Guy Soundboard’. If my flatmate were to pick a least favourite app, it would undoubtedly be the ‘Family Guy Soundboard’. As a big Family Guy fan, getting catchphrases and soundbites from the show in the...

The LG Serie 1 TV. A blast from the past!

January 31st, 2010 by joeO

Some things are better left in the past. Mobile phones the size of a brick, bubonic plague, disco, open sewers and Christopher Biggins to name but a few. But that is not to say everything past should be consigned to the history books, museums or playing widow Twankey in panto! LG are bringing retro styling with a modern twist back into living rooms with the Serie 1 television. This visually arresting 60’s inspired set comes complete with chrome legs, ‘space age’ styled shell, and even rabbit ear antennas and old school knobs to change channel and volume levels. This 14” set...

LG announce their highest fourth quarter earnings

January 29th, 2010 by joeO

The recession has had massive global repercussions, from a significant downturn in consumer spending, right down to morale levels. Fortunately the recession hasn’t hit LG’s product line as they continue full steam ahead with some great 2010 innovations. Despite the current economic slump, LG Electronics Inc. yesterday reported record revenues and operating profits in the fourth quarter of 2009, and results for 2009 as a whole were up on the previous year. Annual sales for 2009 were globally up by 12.5% to a company high of KRW 55.5 trillion (over 27 billion GBP), with flat panel TV sales alone going up by...
